In Memory of Shamai (Shemko) Hanel

On the 28th of Kislev, on the fourth day of Chanukah, the children and families of Afikim salute and remember the man known to us as the " father of Afikim" Shamai (Shemko) ben David Hanel z"l.

The Chanukah holiday symbolizes the light and hope that shines even from within darkness – Shemko always concerned himself with shining the light even in the darkest of places and giving hope to those in desperate need. We remember him with love and gratitude as his light continues to shine upon us.
