Afikim provides each participating child not only with access to state of the art technology but also with top-level computer education program to enhance their academic and technical skills, and to bridge the “digital gap” between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their computer-savvy Israeli counterparts. Each Afikim branch features a computer-learning center outfitted with the latest technology and learning tools. Computer workstations are networked for the students, who are given a well-designed course in the fundamentals of computer knowledge. Professional instructors closely guide each student—at his or her own pace-- in acquiring the computer know-how and skills that are essential for their academic advancement.

In addition to the computer course, Afikim’s children have access to the computer facilities to prepare homework assignments, research projects, and study independently.
