In Afikim, where every day is about the growth and renewal of children and families at-risk, the holiday has additional meaning and is celebrated with a lot of fun. All the Afikim branches celebrated with a festive meal replete with fresh and dried fruits and other tasty delicacies. But the holiday is not only about enjoying the fruits of our labor but also about revitalizing and working the land of Israel. Thanks to a generous donation of saplings from the Eshtaol Nursery, Afikim children planted trees at the local community center and near their homes. Each child also received, in honor of the holiday, a bag of dried fruits to enjoy at home. The hundreds of fruit bags were donated to Afikim by a leading Israeli fruit and nut company Sasson Hakoleh. |
