This dynamic group has been diligently fundraising to support the Afikim center by hosting social fundraisers for their friends and colleagues back in England. Their visit was a wonderful opportunity for them to meet and interact with the children who have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of their generosity and assistance.

Just minutes after meeting, the Young Afikim UK and their Afikim friends had the opportunity to get to know each other while busying themselves with the artistic creation of hamsot (a common ornament in many Middle Eastern countries). Each child prepared a hamsa door hanging for his/her family and received assistance and encouragement from their newfound British friends. The Young Afikim UK was not to be put to shame and they, too, prepared beautiful hand painted hamsot to take back to their families in England.

After the creative work of painting, the children and visitors held a spontaneous game of soccer that proved, once again, that an Israeli/British combo on the soccer field is just unbeatable!

The visit drew to an end with Afikim saying thank you and presenting gifts to the Young Afikim UK. A plaque was also unveiled acknowledging the support of the Young Afikim UK of the Afikim Kiryat Malachi branch.

Afikim is grateful for the partnership of the Young Afikim UK in Kiryat Malachi and is eagerly looking forward to another get-together soon.
